We missed the cup we knew
We are Ukrainian coffee people living in France. Moving countries does not erase the small routines that make a day feel like yours. For us, one of them was a genuinely good cup: clean, sweet, expressive coffee, brewed without a ceremony.
That cup was not always easy to find. OBRIY began with the simple idea that coffee people should not have to save good coffee for a special occasion. It belongs on a Tuesday morning, after a long call, before a train, and whenever you need a little more from the day.
Good coffee belongs to ordinary days
We choose coffees we genuinely want to drink ourselves: full of character, easy to understand and worth returning to. No gatekeeping and no waiting for a holiday. You can make an occasion yourself, with the brewer you already have and a cup that tastes alive.
Start with how you brew
Everyone has a different ritual. Espresso and moka, V60 and filter, AeroPress, French press, cezve or drip bags: the point is not to make your routine more complicated. It is to find a coffee that works beautifully with it.
OBRIY is a horizon
Obriy means horizon in Ukrainian. It is where we come from and where we are looking: Ukrainian coffee sensibility, life in France, and a belief that good coffee should be available to anyone who knows the difference. This is our way of sharing that cup, every day.
