Planadas Tolima Sugarcane Decaf comes from the Planadas region of the Tolima department. The Agprocem cooperative unites 61 family farms. In Tolima, coffee is a family business: small farms of about 3 hectares on average, run by families and friends.

Washed · Sugarcane (EA) decaf
by design.

The cherries are sorted, washed and depulped, then ferment in steel tanks for 12 hours before being washed and dried mechanically.

Caffeine is removed from the green coffee at a dedicated plant in Manizales using ethyl acetate made by fermenting sugarcane molasses (produced by Sucromiles in Palmira, 99.9% pure). Ethyl acetate occurs naturally in fruit such as bananas. It binds and removes the caffeine, and no other substances come into contact with the coffee.
